Wiley’s Wish Animal Rescue is a women-led 501(c)(3) dog rescue serving all of California, rooted in the belief that every dog deserves time, safety, and the chance to be truly seen. We step in for dogs coming from overcrowded and high-kill shelters—dogs who need medical care, patience, stability, and someone willing to say yes when it matters most.

Our work is deeply intentional. Through Paws of Hope, our prison-based rescue dog training program, dogs are given structure, consistency, and compassion while incarcerated residents are given purpose and responsibility. Together, they learn, heal, and grow. Many of our dogs earn their AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification, not as a title, but as a reflection of the care and guidance they’ve received.

We don’t rush the process. Every dog is supported as an individual—trained, nurtured, and loved until the right home finds them. When you adopt from Wiley’s Wish, you’re not just adopting a dog. You’re choosing a rescue built on intention, dignity, and second chances—for dogs and for people. Rescue. It does a doggie good.

Every dog’s journey begins with safety and time. When we pull dogs from high-kill shelters, we focus first on healing—restoring health, stability, and trust after everything they’ve endured.

Many continue their path through Paws of Hope, our prison-based training program, where dogs gain structure, confidence, and guidance alongside incarcerated residents and AKC-certified trainers. For many, this work leads to earning their AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification, reflecting steady care and consistency.

When the time is right, that same care carries through to placement. We focus on thoughtful, intentional matches—pairing each dog with a home prepared to honor the journey that brought them here and the commitment that follows.
